About Jeanne

Jeanne Player is passionate about all things art.  She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication.  After many years of working in radio and real estate sales she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of painting. She has always had a passion for art and decided to dive head first into her art career after friends encouraged her to use the gift of painting God had given her.  She is inspired by the beauty of the natural world around her.  She prefers to work with acrylic paints because of the fast drying time using a combination of palette knives and brushes. She sometimes incorporates mixed media into her artwork.  Jeanne has had many art classes but is largely a self-taught artist.  Jeanne has participated in several exhibits over the past few years. She was thrilled to be selected as an artist for Spotlight on Art in Atlanta in 2024 and 2025. As well as,  Dwell with Dignity in 2021, 2022 and 2024. And, happy to have art selected for the Sea of Change Mid-Atlantic Exhibit 2020 by the Executive Director of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach, VA and the H20 Mid-Atlantic Exhibit in 2021.  Jeanne lives in Fayetteville, NC with her family.  Her art has been shown in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Artist Statement:

I have always had a passion for art.  I find painting brings me a sense of peace and serenity as I recreate the world around me on canvas.  I am inspired by my love of wide-open spaces and the sense of freedom those environments bring.  I love incorporating color into my paintings.  I like to build layer upon layer in my art.  I enjoy painting landscapes, seascapes, figures and florals.  I especially like to paint places I have enjoyed visiting often combining different destinations into one painting.  I hope my art provides the viewer with joy, peace and happiness.
